scott

no hard and fast rule... but a start up of less than
ten (10) total employees probably could not survive
the rigors of a JAD. again, your mileage may vary.

otherwise, combined with use cases and a RAD methodology
like IBM's VMT, JADs increase the quality of the product
while significantly shortening the dev time.

p.s. i do not always get a moment to comment, but yours
is one of the few blogs i check daily (via bloglines)...
thanks for contributing to the world's knowledge base.

Thanks Kevin and SKI.

If Kevin's reccommendation isn't enough, check out the reviews of Ellen's book at amazon. Requirements by Collaboration.

SKI - when you say larger environments, do you mean #users, #SMEs, size of company? Care to throw any ballpark #s out there?

Thanks again guys!

Ellen Gottesdiener's Requirements by Collaboration is also an excellent resource for these, as well as including some good material on requirements in general.
