Thanks BPO Manila!

After a quick re-read (it has been 4 years since I wrote this), my first thought was "there are also three 'T's" - trust, trust, and trust. The level of control you establish is a function of how much you trust your remote team to be autonomous. Coordination is also a function of trust - think "opposite of micromanagement." And communication is directly influenced by trust too - the nature of conversation is determined by the strength (or lack thereof) of trust each team has in the other.
