Hey Paul:
Didi some economics/finance way back and had forgotten how to make some of these calculations and was at the risk of being embarrassed when a colleague asked me to explain ROI! Your simple explanations just brought it all back! Kudos.....didnt find any of the complicated academic journals of any use!

Hey Paul, thanks for reading and commenting.

For the record - you rock. Total typo on my part. I meant for the initial cost to be $250K, but wrote the example as $200K. I've updated the text to show the proper initial values.

I've also added a note explaining the update so that future readers don't think you're a loon.

I really appreciate it, and hope you'll stick around and find more mistakes for us!

"The ROI would therefore be ($272,256 - $250,000)/$250,000 = 9%." Where does the 250,000 value come from, for some reason I am not seeing its base.
